Our Story

Charlie Vidal spent five years framing houses and pouring foundations, then three more years in project management on large commercial construction projects. His father, Alfonso Vidal, spent thirty years in the trades before that — as a cement mason, a framer, and a concrete foreman, the kind of work that teaches you exactly what a crew needs to get a job done right. In 2021, the two of them stopped building other people's companies and started their own: Vidsan Builders, standing for the idea that a general contractor should still know how to swing a hammer.

Leadership

Charlie Vidal, President, holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from San Francisco State University and a Master's degree in Structural and Earthquake Engineering — the kind of technical background that matters most on the hillside and complex sites Vidsan Builders specializes in. Alfonso Vidal, Vice President, brings more than three decades of hands-on experience as a cement mason, framer, and concrete foreman, and is the reason framing and foundation work stays in-house instead of being subcontracted out.

Self-Performed, By Design

Framing and foundation are not an afterthought at Vidsan Builders — they are where the company started. Alfonso's three decades in concrete and framing are the literal roots of the business, and self-performing both trades on every project means the crew solving a structural problem on site is our own, not a subcontractor's. It is also why Vidsan Builders takes on sites like The Hilltop's 45 percent grade and The Coast House's coastal exposure — the hillside, coastal, and otherwise complex sites that other general contractors pass on.

Built With Technology

Vidsan Builders pairs that trade background with a technology-forward approach to building. Every project starts with 3D renders of rough structural components, reviewed before construction begins, so problems get caught on a screen instead of on the job site. Homeowners aren't left guessing between check-ins either — a proprietary, homeowner-facing system gives clients a daily look at where their project actually stands.

That range — structural engineering credentials, decades of hands-on trade work, and modern project technology — is why Vidsan Builders can take on almost anything, on almost any site, across the Peninsula and South Bay.

Our Team

Cristian Paniagua, Project Manager, brings 3+ years of construction experience and a Construction Technology degree to every project, and is currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management.

Elsy, Business Manager, keeps every project's paperwork and day-to-day office operations in order — contracts, permits, and the administrative work behind the scenes that keeps a job site running on schedule.
